card marketing
Ok so you say you were able to create an attractive, stunning and memorable business card. The big problem now is what will you do with it and how will you make it work for you?
Business cards are one of the most valuable and cost effective marketing tools for your business. You must get them to circulate within the communities though to get them to work. Hiding them in the box in your drawer would do your business no good. You need to get them into the hands and wallets of your potential customers. Always keep in mind though that your business card is like a commercial ad for your business so you really need people to see it in order for it to be workable. How can you possibly do this I can hear you ask?
Well first off, you need to always keep them in your purse, pocket, wallet or briefcase or at the reception area of your office or any other easy accessible place. It is important that you have them on hand so that when you need them you can easily grab one to hand to a potential customer whilst you introduce yourself to them.
Secondly, you can always place the cards in libraries, supermarkets, local restaurants or bulletin boards or any other place that takes your fancy. Whenever there is an opportunity for you to post or leave your card ask if need be then go for it. You never know somebody important might see it and contact you or even pass your information onto others to use your services.
Third, Always include your business card in all your correspondence even emails if you can scan it into your computer system. If you ship products you can include a card in every package. You can also include your contact information in your email signature. It serves as an electronic business card.
Fourth, keep you cards in a nice strong holder so they won’t get bent or wet. Storing your cards in a stylish case creates a better presentation, which should draw the looker’s eyes to your card. If you are also exchanging cards with people always treat them well as you never know how much business they can generate for you.
Fifth, Always give people a reason to keep hold of your card. Make it a need not just something to clutter there wallet, desk etc. You can print something unique and different at the back such as a calendar, list of important events or anything relevant to your business. Lastly, but most importantly use the business card to introduce yourself. But at the same time don’t be too pushy. Make sure that the time is appropriate when you hand them such as when first chatting and then you may also have a opportunity at the end of the conversation with giving them a card to keep in touch. You also can ask first for the other person’s business card. This way they should also ask you for your card in return.
Your Business cards can do more than just give your contact information. They are marketing materials to help you bring in more business. So, don’t just leave them to sit in a box collecting dust they cant work for you from a hidden spot. They are inexpensive enough to print by the thousands, so hand them out so they can serve their purpose and prosper
